HP System Event Utility is a lightweight background service for HP notebooks and desktops that enables special function keys, hardware buttons, and related on-screen notifications to work properly in Windows. Developed by Hewlett-Packard Company, it listens for system events from the keyboard and built-in controls—such as Fn shortcuts for brightness and volume, wireless or airplane mode toggles, sleep, and keyboard backlight—and translates them into the appropriate actions and status overlays. The utility is typically preinstalled on HP PCs and can be reinstalled after a clean Windows setup to restore hotkey functionality. While it is not required for Windows itself, removing it may disable certain HP-specific shortcuts and visual cues. It runs quietly at startup, requires no configuration, and uses minimal system resources.

HP System Event Utility is developed by Hewlett-Packard and is used by 6,860 users of Software Informer. The names of program executable files are Beats.exe, HPThermalAssistant.exe, HPWA_Main.exe, HPWMISVC.exe and hpwucli.exe. This particular product is not fit to be reviewed by our informers.
